Since the launch of the Association in 2011, there has been a feeling of positive change in the neighbourhood. The residential population is on the increase and the local economy has grown.  A substantial number of high-quality redevelopments and new business applications are constantly being put forward here.  An extensive effort to green Marylebone and Fitzrovia with trees – first started in our area – already has had a notable impact.

Members of the PVA worked with ARUP – designers of the Sydney Opera House and a global leader in urban engineering – to create a local ‘Visioning Plan’ to spur further improvements to our neighbourhood.  The report contains a list of possible improvements for our area’s amenities.  Click here for a copy of the Fitzrovia Forest Vision Document.

The W1W Tree Planting Initiative for Marylebone and Fitzrovia continues to plant trees to improve our environment. Many local streets have now been transformed with trees and there is real optimism that the project will reach its 1,000-tree target by the end of 2022.  Click here for the latest news regarding the W1W Tree Planting Campaign.

The Association has been very pleased to see constant upgrading  of the quality of our pavements and safety of our pedestrian crossings.  Westminster has worked on pavement widening, additional pedestrian crossings and improved surfaces that have enhanced the walking experience of locals and visitors alike.  The PVA and local community are very pleased with the numerous achievements realised over the last 10 years.
